NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt soccer returns home on Friday night for an SEC East Division matchup against Missouri at 7 p.m. at the Vanderbilt Soccer Complex on SEC Network+.
The Commodores will honor seven seniors— Abi Brighton, Tina Bruni, Kate Devine, Sophia Gorski, Ava Hetzel, Amber Nguyen and Alex Wagner—in a pregame ceremony that will begin on the field at 6:40 p.m.
Series History
- The Dores are 5-6-3 all-time against Missouri, dating to 2006 when the series opened with a 2-2 draw
- Last season, the Dores posted a 2-0 victory over the Tigers with goals coming from Maddie Baker and Alex Kerr in the final three minutes of the match in Columbia
- In 2021, the Commodores dominated in a 5-0 win with goals coming from five different student-athletes
Last Time on the Pitch
Vanderbilt fell to No. 18 Kentucky on Sunday afternoon in a 2-0 decision. The Wildcats struck first on a penalty kick after a foul in the box. It was the first penalty kick the Dores have given up this season. Ulfa Ulfarsdottir netted the PK to put Kentucky up 1-0 heading into the break.
The Commodores got off four shots in the first frame and controlled 52 percent of the possession. Kentucky extended the lead in the 49th minute when Maya Lacognato passed her defender and found the back of the net to put the Wildcats up 2-0.
Vanderbilt finished with a 7-3 edge on corner kicks and outshot Kentucky 8-6.
