Vanderbilt’s women’s soccer team finished in a three-way tie for second place in the SEC with Kentucky and Tennessee with 6-3-2 league records.

The Wildcats will be the No. 2 seed at the SEC tourney this week in Orange Beach, Ala., by virtue of going 2-0 against UT and VU. Tennessee will be the No. 3 seed due to its win over Vanderbilt in the regular season and the Commodores will be the No. 4 seed.

VU will take on No. 5 seed South Carolina (11-5-4, 5-2-4 SEC) in the opening round on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m CT. A win over the Gamecocks would pit the Commodores against the winner of the Georgia/Florida contest on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Vanderbilt has advanced to the SEC semifinals the last two years and is seeking an NCAA tournament bid for the second straight year.
