NASHVILLE, Tenn. – After three months away from competition, the Vanderbilt women’s soccer team is back in action this Sunday, Feb. 28th with the first of five spring soccer games.
“Our spring games will give us a great look at some of our younger players and their development,” said head coach Darren Ambrose. “The girls have put in a tremendous effort into everything we have done and I am looking forward to watching how it translates onto the field. While we aren’t deep this spring, given injuries recovering from the fall, I like the attitude and mentality we are continuing to develop”
In addition to Sunday’s match, three games will be played on the road against universities in the state of Tennessee, with the Dores lacing up their cleats for the final exhibition in Tuscaloosa, Ala. against the Crimson Tide.
The Commodores kick things off on Sunday, with an exhibition against the Murray State Racers. Sunday’s match begins at 1:00 pm at the track complex and will be Commodore fans only chance to get a glimpse of the spring squad at home.
Once Vandy’s opening spring exhibition is in the books, the team then travels to Murfreesboro to take on MTSU on Sunday, March 20. Vanderbilt will head to Lipscomb on the fifth of April to face the Bison, then west to Memphis on the ninth. VU and Alabama conclude the spring on April 17th.
