NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt junior defender Danielle Snajder has been named to the 12th annual Southeastern Conference women’s soccer Community Service Team.
The SEC sponsors Community Service Teams for all 21 league sponsored sports. The Community Service Team looks to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts.
“I am extremely proud of Danielle (Snajder),” said head coach Darren Ambrose. “She gives so much of herself to so many constituents. She is invested not only in this program, but many of the communities around the area. I am happy to see her receive recognition for all that she does off of the field. Danielle is one of the most selfless people I have had the pleasure of coaching.”
Snajder has been the most active player on the Vanderbilt soccer team in terms of community service this season. Working hard at work on the field, in the classroom and out in the greater Nashville-area, Danielle helped the Commodores amass over 200 hours of community service.
A junior defender, Snajder is a member of Vanderbilt Students Volunteer for Science (VSVS), traveling and teaching sixth graders science lessons. She has worked two blood drives, sorted foods at Second Harvest Food Bank, tutored second graders with Pencil Projects, assisted the YWCA at consignment stores and volunteered with the American Red Cross Club.
Along with her teammates, the ‘Dores have helped build houses through Habitat for Humanity, taught soccer skills to some of their biggest fans in Sloane’s Sidekicks and sanitized play toys for the patients of the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital.
Vanderbilt opens up spring practice on Feb. 13.
