Sixty Seconds with Monica Buff and Tyler Griffin 8/23/2006 With the first regular season soccer game scheduled for this Friday, August 25, against Colorado (7:30 p.m. CT at the Vanderbilt Soccer Complex), VUcommodores.com asked senior soccer players Tyler Griffin and Monica Buff a few questions to find out a little bit more about them. <?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?> Tyler Griffin
#18 – Senior Goalkeeper Entering your senior season, what has been your most memorable moment as a Commodore? Beating Tennessee at home last year 2-1. There was a packed house at the Soccer Complex. We broke our single-game attendance record that night and overall it was a great atmosphere for our team. Your Favorite Television Show? During league play this summer, a bunch of us would watch episodes of Friends. What CD would we find in your car? I try to listen to a good variety of music. I have been listening to country music recently- Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney to name a few. Do you have a song that you play to get ready for each game? It changes from time to time. One song that I really like is “Send Me on My Way” by Rusted Root. Tell us about something you do to kill time? I play guitar when I can, but there’s not a lot of time to spare in-season as a student-athlete at Vanderbilt. I also like to read non-fiction books. Monica Buff
#16 – Senior Defender
Entering your senior season, what has been your most memorable moment as a Commodore? For me, it had to be the moment we found out we were a host site for the NCAA tournament last year. We were one of the last four teams announced to make the field. The thrill of hosting was amazing and we are focused on making it back again this year.
Do you have a favorite movie? Forrest Gump is near the top of my list. What CD are you listening to in your car? Well, my car doesn’t have a CD player, but I do like to listen to all types of music. Do you have a song that you play to get ready for each game? I listen to James Taylor to get pumped up? “Fire and Rain” is a good one. Who would you say is the funniest person on team? Meredith Kohn– she has a great sense of humor and she puts everyone in a great mood. The 2006 soccer season gets underway with the regular season opener Friday, August 25, against Colorado at 7:30 p.m. CT at the Vanderbilt Soccer Complex. Tickets to home games are $3 for adults and $1 for youth. 2006 Schedule > |
