COLUMBIA, S.C. – No. 10 Vanderbilt soccer registered its sixth SEC shutout of the season, taking down No. 17 South Carolina in a 1-0 decision on Sunday at Stone Stadium, marking the Dores’ first win in Columbia since 2015.
The Commodores (13-3-1) finish the regular season, earning second place in the SEC just behind Arkansas and clinching the second seed in SEC Tournament.
Junior Sydney Watts delivered the decisive strike in the 17th minute, scoring her team-leading 12th goal of the season off assists from Grace Freeman and Reagan Pentz. Watt’s 12 goals lead the conference.
Keeper Sara Wojdelko earned her eighth shutout of the season and 19th of her career, collecting two saves to preserve the clean sheet. The Dores have registered 11 shutouts, the most since 2019.
