Cole Sherwood (Class of 2024) picks up his first professional win by carding 16-under at the Colonial Life Charity Classic

ELGIN, S.C. – For the second-straight week, a Vanderbilt men’s golf alumnus has won a tournament on the pro circuit, as Cole Sherwood (Class of 2024) collected his first professional victory on the Korn Ferry Tour by winning the Colonial Life Charity Classic.

Sherwood, who joined the Korn Ferry Tour in 2024 via PGA TOUR University at the end of his Vanderbilt career, carded 16-under 264 at the Colonial Life Charity Classic to post his professional win. The Austin, Texas, native held round scores of 68-66-64-66 over four days of play at The Woodcreek Club in Elgin, South Carolina.

It marks the second time in a week that a Dore on Tour collected a professional win in South Carolina. Last Sunday, Brandt Snedeker (Class of 2003) captured medalist honors at the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic to post his first PGA TOUR victory in over seven years.

Sherwood was one of four Vanderbilt alumni to make the cut at this week’s Colonial Life Charity Classic. Will Gordon (Class of 2019) tied 23rd with a score of 8-under 272, while Theo Humphrey (Class of 2018) tied for 36th with a four-round total of 6-under 274. Matthew Riedel tied for 73rd after carding 1-under 279.
