NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt lacrosse closed the 2023 season Saturday with a 12-11 win over Temple on Senior Day.
Senior Lila Huddles scored the go-ahead goal with 21 seconds left in the game to win it for the Commodores.
Temple got on the board first but Vandy responded with four goals in three minutes to go up 4-2 after the opening period.
Seniors Kayla Rieu, Paige Finneran and Kate Murphy all connected for goals in the second quarter, giving the Dores a 7-4 advantage at the break.
Huddles found the back of the net in the opening minutes of the third quarter. Bri Gross helped Vanderbilt reach their largest lead of the day with a goal off a free position shot to lead 9-5.
Vandy scored back-to-back goals in the opening half of the final quarter, but Temple would go on to tally four consecutive goals to tie the game at 11-11 with under a minute to go.
Huddles then connected for an unassisted goal through three defenders to claim the victory over Temple.

Vanderbilt ends the 2023 season 4-11 overall and 2-4 in American Athletic Conference play.
