Soccer returns to the pitch to face Georgia in semifinals of SEC Tournament

Series History
• Vanderbilt leads the all-time series 15-14-2, with the last match up coming last season in Nashville when Georgia shutout the Dores 1-0. The Commodores have not beaten Georgia since the 2021 season
• The programs have not met in the postseason since 2015, Darren Ambrose’s first season as head coach, in Orange Beach, Alabama, with the Dores taking a 2-1 win in the first round. The two squads have met three times in the SEC Tournament, with Vandy holding a 2-1 edge
• Georgia has not lost a match since Oct. 2 and have gone 3-0-3 in their last six matches and the Commodores enter the match on a seven-game winning streak, the longest since going unbeaten for seven straight in 2019

The Opponent
• Georgia enters the contest 10-3-6 overall, coming off a 1-1 tie, but advancing 5-4 on penalties against Kentucky in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament on Tuesday
• The Bulldogs converted on their first four attempts, while Kentucky’s first attempt missed wide right. After a make by Maddy Herniter, Hannah Folliard saved the sixth Wildcat shot to advance the Bulldogs to Thursday’s semifinals
• Following a Kentucky goal early in the second half, Summer Denigan went top shelf in the 75th minute to equalize with her 11th goal of the season and help send the match into extra time

Scouting Report
• Summer Denigan, 2025 First-Team All-SEC, leads Georgia with 11 goals on the year, starting all 19 matches and dishing six assists. Denigan was the Bulldogs’ first First Team honoree since Abby Boyan in 2022
• Cate Hardin, All-SEC Second Team, dished a team-high four assists this season and scored once on eight shots on frame
• Hanna Folliard has started all 19 in net for the Bulldogs, making 38 saves and giving up 14 goals

Last Time Out
• No. 8 Vanderbilt soccer took down Alabama in a 2-1 decision on Tuesday morning at the Brosnaham Soccer Complex in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament. Freshman duo of Olivia Stafford and Reagan Pentz were the difference makers, each adding a goal to help advance the Dores
• Vanderbilt (14-3-1, 7-2-1 SEC) fell behind early when Alabama struck first in the 12th minute when Nadia Ramadan converted a pass from Larkin Thomason to make it 1–0. Moments later, the Crimson Tide went down a player after goalkeeper Madi Munguia was issued a red card. Vanderbilt capitalized quickly on the free kick, as Olivia Stafford finished a cross from Courtney Jones for her fifth goal of the season
• Reagan Pentz scored in the 50th minute, slotting home a pass from Sydney Watts and Olivia Stafford to give Vanderbilt a 2–1 lead it would not relinquish. Vanderbilt outshot Alabama 15-12 and held a 54-46 advantage in possession. Keeper Sara Wojdelko recorded four saves to earn her 13th win of the season

Leading the Charge Postseason
• Vanderbilt soccer had six recognized last Thursday by the SEC in postseason honors, highlighted by Sara Wojdelko, who was named SEC Goalkeeper of the Year, and Sydney Watts, who earned SEC Forward of the Year. It marks the first time the program earned both goalkeeper and forward of the year
• Additionally, Courtney Jones, Hannah McLaughlin, Watts and Wojdelko all earned All-SEC First Team, while Reagan Pentz and Olivia Stafford were named all-freshman team
• Vanderbilt’s six honors lead the conference for the most by a single team

12 Scorers, 13 Dishers
• So far this season the Commodores have had 12 individuals find the back of the net, eight of which have on multiple occasions
• The Dores have dished 33 assists this year, with 13 different getters
• Vandy has outscored its opponent 39-9 and out-dished opponents 36-5

Top-10 Wojo
• In Vandy’s game at Arkansas, keeper Sara Wojdelko cracked into the program’s top-10 in all-time saves. She took ninth place after the Dores 2-1 win over Alabama in the SEC Quarterfinals
