  • Averaged 70.89 strokes per round
  • Played in all 12 events as a junior

  • Won medalist honors at the East Lake Cup in front of a national television audience on the Golf Channel with an even-par 72.

  • Finished the Carmel Cup at Pebble Beach tied for sixth.

  • Posted an 11-under par, 202 (67-69-66) at the Nike Collegiate Invitational, which tied for the fourth-lowest 54-hole total in Vanderbilt history
  • Won the 2017 Tom Cousins Award at the East Lake Cup by a selected panel of industry leaders for his accolades both on and off of the golf course
  • Had a 2-1 record in match play, winning 4 & 3 over Edwin Yi of Oregon and 2 & 1 over Michael Feagles of Illinois at the East Lake Cup, and dropping a 1-up decision to Lee Hodges of Alabama in the SEC Quarterfinals

Summer of 2017:

  • Placed ninth at the Players Amateur and advanced to match play at the 2017 U.S. Amateur

As a Sophomore (2016-17):

  • Averaged 72.78 strokes per round
  • Named to 2017 SEC Community Service Team and the SEC Academic Honor Roll
  • Played in all 11 events as a sophomore
  • Shot a 68 in the stroke-play round of the East Lake Cup and finished in a tie for second
  • Carded three rounds in the 60’s this season

As a Freshman (2015-16):

  • Played in 34 stroke-play rounds and averaged 70.88 strokes per round
  • Named a GCAA Freshman All-American, to the All-SEC 2nd Team and the All-Freshman Team, and also to the U.S. Palmer Cup team, the only freshman named to the American team
  • Named to the First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll
  • Tied for first at the Schenkel Invitational (67-73-63), which included a final round 63…Also posted a final-round 63 at the SunTrust Gator Invitational
  • Had seven top 10 finishes this season – the Carmel Cup (T-10th), the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational (T-4th), the SunTrust Gator Invitational (6th), the Schenkel Invitational (T-1st), the Mason Rudolph Championship (T-4th), and the NCAA Franklin Regional (T-9th)
  • Had a 3-0 record in match play in regular season, defeating Jimmy Stangler of Virginia (2 & 1) at the DICK’s Collegiate Challenge Cup, and Vince Whaley of Georgia Tech (4 & 3) and Ben Schlottman of Auburn (3 & 2) at the FarmLinks Collegiate Match Play
  • Posted 10 rounds in the 60’s
  • His 63 tied a league-low this season with Florida’s Sam Horsfield, but was only player in the SEC with two rounds of 63

Prior to Vanderbilt:

  • Was ranked as the number one ranked junior golfer in the state of North Carolina for the late part of 2013 and the first half of 2014 after finishing in the top 10 in six junior tournaments
  • Member of the 2015 NCISAA State Championship team
  • In 2013, Gordon made the round of 32 at the U.S. Junior Amateur, and in 2014, he made it to sectional qualifying for the U.S. Open
  • A 2013 AJGA Rolex All-America honorable mention selection, he was also a standout for his Cannon School team
  • Was a two-time Charlotte Observer Cabarrus News Player of the Year and a two-time NCISAA All-State team member, and holds his high school’s record for 18 holes (66) and nine holes (30)
  • Ranked as the number 31 golfer in the 2015 class
  • Member of Rho Kappa Honor Society (Social Studies) and Mu Alpha Theta Honor Society (Math)
