McGaster developed into the Commodores’ most consistent cornerback as a first-year starter… Played in all 12 games, McGaster earned 11 starting assignments in the secondary… Finished the year with two interceptions, sharing team lead with cornerback Taurean Ferguson… Ranked first on the squad with 46 solo tackles, second with five defensed passes, and third with 66 total tackles… Also contributed 3.5 tackles for loss and a forced fumble… Concluded the year in outstanding fashion, picking off two passes in narrow loss vs. Tennessee… Season high of seven solo tackles and nine total tackles came at Mississippi State… All season totals marked new career highs for McGaster… Registered seven total tackles and a forced fumble vs. South Carolina… Also posted at least four tackles in 11 of 12 games.
2013
McGaster played in all 13 games, and earned a start in the secondary at cornerback against Texas A&M… Finished the year with 10 solo tackles, 15 total tackles and a fumble recovery… Contributed pair of tackles against UMass, UAB, Missouri, Texas A&M and Wake Forest… Fumble recovery came in win over nationally ranked Georgia.
2012
Though McGaster never played as a true freshman, he received valuable practice time working frequently with the team’s travel roster… Displayed plenty of coverage skills and nose for the football during fall practices.
