Rewarded for sensational senior campaign by both writers (First Team All-SEC safety), coaches (Second Team All-SEC DB) and Athlons… Also recognized on Phil Steele and Athlons postseason All-SEC squads… Saw action in all 13 games, earning 12 starting assignments as the Commodores[apos] free safety… Paired with fellow senior Javon Marshall to form potent and experienced safety duo for Vanderbilt secondary… Topped the SEC and shared NCAA lead while setting a team record with five forced fumbles… Also topped the Commodores and ranked T-2nd in the SEC with five interceptions… Ladler[apos]s 65 solo tackles paced the squad and ranked 2nd in the SEC… Also led the Commodores with 91 total tackles… Averaged 9.0 tackles against SEC competition… Contributed at least three tackles in every game… Set new single-game high with 14 total tackles against both South Carolina and Missouri… Registered interceptions in consecutive, late-season SEC games against Texas A&M, Florida, Kentucky and Tennessee… Had 10 total tackles, two forced fumbles and INT at Texas A&M… Career high of 10 solo tackles came at South Carolina… Had four tackles and a pair of defensed passes to aid 41-24 victory over Houston in the BBVA Compass Bowl… Earned postseason invitation to the prestigious Reese[apos]s Senior Bowl.
2012
Ladler has started all 12 games he has appeared in as a first-year, full-time starting safety… Topped the defense with 90 total tackles and shared team lead with Javon Marshall with 60 solo stops… Also registered 3.5 tackles for loss, a sack, a forced fumble and two interceptions… Played one of his best games in Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl victory over North Carolina State by contributing team-high 10 tackles, an INT and fumble recovery… In the season-opener versus South Carolina, he notched nine tackles, a tackle for loss, a sack and an interception… Matched career high with 11 total tackles against Georgia… Tallied a season-best 11 tackles at Georgia.
2011
Ladler played in all 13 games, earning five starts… Finished season with 53 tackles, fourth on squad… Contributed at least three tackles in 10 of 13 games… Set a career-best 11 stops at Florida to lead the team… His nine solo stops against the Gators equalled Sean Richardson[apos]s tackle output against Florida for the most by a Commodore safety… Posted seven tackles at South Carolina… Picked off his second career pass and first of the season in win over Connecticut… Also registered three tackles, including one for a loss, vs. Cincinnati in AutoZone Liberty Bowl.
2010
Developed into one of the nation[apos]s top young safeties in the nation, earning Freshman All-SEC recognition in postseason ballot of league coaches… Played in every game at strong safety… Earned nine starting assignments, including starts in the team[apos]s final eight games… After opening the season as top reserve, Ladler quickly moved into the starting lineup when Jay Fullam suffered shoulder injury… Ranked fifth on team in solo tackles (41) and total tackles (57)… Also registered 5.5 tackles for loss, a forced fumble and interception… Posted at least three tackles in each of last 10 games; and four or more in eight of those contests… Career-high tackle total (8) came at Arkansas… Had key fumble recovery and tackle for loss in win at Ole Miss… Interception came in loss to Tennessee.
High School
Two-year starter in defensive secondary for AAAAA power located just east of Atlanta… As senior safety, helped Stephenson to undefeated regular season and second round of state playoffs, contributing 80 tackles, 45 solo stops, four interceptions and a forced fumble… Scored on punt return, INT return and blocked punt during 2009 season… Named honorable mention AAAAA All-State and All-Region… Had an INT and four tackles in postseason DeKalb County East-West All-Star Game… Posted 39 tackles, including three for loss, as junior safety… As sophomore, contributed INT in first career start… Also sprinted on track squad.
