Hughes played through injuries for much of the season… Saw action in nine games at outside linebacker… Posted six total tackles on the season… Missed games against South Carolina, Kentucky and Florida with injury… Opened the year with pair of tackles vs. Temple.

Hughes played in all 13 games, seeing action at linebacker and on special team coverage units… Posted 14 total tackles, including six solo stops and a pair of tackles for loss… Had three tackles, one tackle for loss and a forced fumble in win over Austin Peay… Also registered three tackles against UMass, UAB and Missouri.

Hughes has played in 12 games as a reserve linebacker and contributor on special teams… Tallied four total tackles, including a tackle for loss during the season… Also recovered a fumble in the win against UMass… Recovered a blocked punt in the end zone for a score in Vanderbilt’s win at Wake Forest becoming the first Commodore to register a touchdown off blocked punt since Javon Marshall accomplished the feat against Florida in 2010… Contributed two tackles in victory over North Carolina State in Music City Bowl.
