2016
Gouger enjoyed his finest year as a Commodore, giving the offensive front much-needed stability and veteran leadership in his first year as a starter at center… Moved from guard to center during spring drills, with expectation of filling graduation vacancy left by current San Diego Charger starter Spencer Pulley… Started all 13 regular season games in his fifth year, playing virtually every meaningful snap at center… Part of an offensive line that showed substantial improvement as the season developed… By the end of the season, Gouger and the line played a huge role in running Ralph Webb becoming the team’s all-time leading rusher and sophomore Kyle Shurmur producing one of the finest seasons ever by a Commodore quarterback… The offense improved in nearly every stat category from a year ago, including points, first downs and total yards… Gouger and the line also helped the Commodore offense rank among the national leaders in red-zone efficiency, producing points on 43 of 46 possessions inside the 20-yard line.
2015
Gouger enjoyed his finest season during his fourth year on campus, participating in all 12 games… Started first 10 games at right guard… Played 613 offensive snaps, fourth most among linemen… Registered 44 pancake blocks and 11 domination blocks during season.
2014
Gouger participated in all 12 games as a redshirt sophomore, seeing action as a reserve offensive lineman and on special team conversion units… Offensive snaps came at center and guard.
2013
Gouger saw action on the offensive line in 10 games as a redshirt freshman… Primarily played guard, but also enjoyed starting assignment against Missouri in tackle eligible position.
2012
Gouger has redshirted in his first season at Vanderbilt, while contributing as a practice squad offensive lineman.
High School
Senior captain… Four-year letterwinner and three-year starter at offensive tackle… Recipient of 2011 Division II Mr. Football Lineman Award… As senior had 36 pancake blocks, helping Red Raiders to school’s first D-II regional championship and second straight appearance in D-II championship game… Also earned All-State and All-Region as senior, along with being named to Dream Team by Tennessean and Best of the Preps by Chattanooga Times-Free Press… Three-year letterwinner in wrestling and Division II state champion in heavyweight class.
