2016
No Commodore had worse luck than Jelks, who returned for his fifth year but ended up missing the entire campaign with a leg injury sustained in preseason camp… Though he didn’t play during the season, Jelks remained an active member of the squad and brought leadership to a young offensive line… Coaches like Jelks dress in full gear for the finale against Tennessee and named his one of four co-captains at the season-ending team banquet.

2015
Jelks experienced a disappointing season in his third year on campus… Projected as the team’s starting left tackle after manning the position in 2014, Jelks suffered a season-ending leg injury during August drills and never played a snap during the regular season.

2014
Jelks started all 12 games at left tackle despite playing at less than full health… Moved from playing right tackle as redshirt freshman to left tackle where he replaced All-SEC performer Wesley Johnson… Has started 21 consecutive games on the offensive front… Participated in nearly 90 percent of team’s offensive snaps, contributing 16 pancake blocks and 14 domination blocks.

2013
Named to Coaches’ SEC All-Freshman squad… Also recognized as Freshman All-America by Football Writers Association of America… Jelks became a starter along the offensive front early in his redshirt freshman campaign… Participated in 12 games, earning nine starts at right tackle… Commodores registered 7-2 start with Jelks in starting lineup… First career start came in win at UMass… Registered 42 blocks that led directly to Commodore first downs or TDs… Also credited with 26 knockdown blocks…Recorded time on the field with the offense in win over Austin Peay helping the Dores gain 442 yards of total offense.

2012
Jelks has drawn rave reviews from the coaching staff despite redshirting as a true freshman… Jelks displayed excellent agility and techniques during fall practices and also added bulk through the weight room.

High School
Senior captain… Three-year offensive line starter… As senior left tackle, contributed over 70 pancake blocks as Henry County went 15-0 and earned first state title in school history… Finalist for 5A Mr. Football Lineman of the Year Award as senior… First Team 5A All-State and named to Tennessean’s Dream Team, Dandy Dozen and All-Midstate squads… Earned All-Area OL honors as junior after Patriots finished 10-2… Started on varsity hoops team… Ranked among Top Ten percent of class academically… Attended Boys State as junior.
