2018
Skule ran his consecutive starts streak to 40 games by starting all 13 games during the regular season… As a senior, Skule started every game at left tackle, protecting the blindside of record-breaking quarterback Kyle Shurmur… Played virtually every important offensive snap as a senior… Contributed nine pancake blocks and 25 domination blocks, helping Ke’Shawn Vaughn to become team’s sixth 1,000-yard rusher… Behind Skule and the offensive line, the Commodore offense averaged 411.2 otal yards, including 243.7 passing yards and 167.5 rushing yards… Team’s total yardage figure is the highest by a VU offense since the mid-1970s… With Skule’s help, the Commodores closed the season averaging 37.5 points during the final five games of the season… Named SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week on Oct. 27 after dominating performance in VU’s road victory at Arkansas where Vaughn rushed for 172 yards and three touchdowns… Skule and the VU offensive line allowed just 20 quarterback sacks during the regular season… Made postseason appearance in East-West Shrine Game.

2017
Skule started all 12 games, running his consecutive starts streak to 25 games… As a junior, moved to left tackle, serving as the blindside protector for quarterback Kyle Shurmur… Played in 98 percent of team’s 751 offensive snaps… Credited with 19 domination blocks from his tackle position… Part of offensive line that permitted just 19 quarterback sacks, more than a dozen less than previous year… Also contributed on special team conversion units.

2016
Skule started all 13 games as a sophomore… Played more than 90 percent of team’s offensive snaps at right tackle… By the end of the season, Skule and the line played a huge role in running Ralph Webb becoming the team’s all-time leading rusher and sophomore Kyle Shurmur producing one of the finest seasons ever by a Commodore quarterback… Skule and the line helped the Commodore offense improved in nearly every stat category from 2015, including points scored, first downs, total yards and red-zone efficiency where the unit produced points on 43 of 46 possessions inside the 20-yard line.

2015
As a true freshman, Skule showed excellent promise, becoming a starter on the offensive line only to suffer a midseason injury that prematurely ended his campaign… Played in seven games, earning starts at right tackle in victory against Austin Peay and at Ole Miss… Registered 20 pancake blocks while playing 233 offensive snaps… Missed the Florida, Kentucky, Texas A&M and Tennessee games after sustaining injury at Houston.

HIGH SCHOOL
Senior captain… Two-year starter at LT for Northern Virginia power… Helped Wildcats to 27-3 overall record, including 2013 Class AAA state championship and 2014 state title appearance… As senior, registered nearly 30 pancake blocks as Wildcats’ Wing-T offense produced nearly 4,600 rushing yards… Named to sportswriters’ First Team AAA All-State and Washington Post’s prestigious All-Metro Team as senior… Totalled more than 50 pancake blocks and allowed just one QB sack as two-year starter… Threw shot put and discus on track & field team as junior… Honors student.

Justin Grant Skule… Pronounced “School”… Born Nov. 23, 1996… Son of Josh and Christy Skule… Dad works for the FBI; mom is an office assistant… Has three siblings: two brothers, Jackson and Joe, and a sister, Taylor… Dad played offensive line at the U.S. Naval Academy… Working toward a degree in economics.
