NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Kemper Robinson of Vanderbilt lacrosse was named 2025 American Athletic Conference Preseason Midfielder of the Year on Tuesday ahead of the spring season kicking off next weekend.
The senior midfielder posted a team-high 46 points off 38 goals and eight assists during the 2024 campaign. Following a career season, the Owings Mills, Maryland, native was selected first-team All-AAC and to the AAC All-Tournament Team after earning conference weekly honors four times during the regular season. Robinson posted seven hat tricks last season, the most by a Commodore.
Additionally, Vandy landed five student-athletes on the preseason all-conference team. Brooke Baker, Maddie Barkate, Molly Finlay, Alex Gladding and Robinson earned the nod.
Baker, a fifth-year student, posted 39 points off 36 goals and three assists during the 2024 campaign. The Raleigh, North Carolina, native also picked up 12 groundballs, nine draw controls and caused seven turnovers during last season.
Barkate, a transfer from Harvard, joins the black and gold after winning 239 draw controls over her undergraduate career, with 119—the most in the Ivy League as well as in Harvard’s modern program history—coming during her senior season, a total that ranked in the top 10 in the nation in the category.
Finlay enters her senior season after posting 40 points last year from 30 goals and 10 assists. The Oakton, Virginia, native was named second-team All-AAC in 2024 for her performance during her junior season and was included on the AAC Honor Roll weekly award twice last spring.
Gladding enters her sophomore season after a freshman campaign that saw her cause 17 turnovers, tied for the second most on the team.
Vanderbilt was picked to finish second in the conference in the preseason coaches’ poll behind James Madison.
