Road Test Up Next

Dores travel to Northwestern for Saturday clash with Wildcats

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — After a doubleheader sweep to open the season, the Vanderbilt men’s tennis team gets its first road test of the year in a matchup with Northwestern in Evanston, Illinois on Saturday.

The Dores shut out Tennessee State and Tennessee Tech on Wednesday in their first dual matches of the spring slate. Freshmen Hoyoung Roh, Jack Satterfield and Cayden Wang all picked up their first dual match wins for the black and gold. The team turns its attention to Northwestern, who Vanderbilt downed 5-2 at home last season. The Commodores own an 11-7 record against the Wildcats in the all-time series and have captured back-to-back victories in the matchup across the past two seasons.

Vandy eyes a 3-0 start for the second time in three seasons under head coach Scott Brown. With Brown at the helm, the Dores are 19-6 against nonconference opponents in the regular season, including a 17-1 record against nonconference teams ranked outside the top-25. Tomorrow’s match marks the start of a short road stretch for Vanderbilt, who travels to Winston-Salem, North Carolina next week for ITA Kickoff Weekend at Wake Forest.

Tomorrow’s match is set to begin at noon from the indoor courts at the Combe Tennis Center. Streaming will be available online with live stats accessible here. For more information, updates and exclusive game day content, follow the Vanderbilt men’s tennis team, @VandyMTennis, on Instagram and X.
