Regular Season Finale

No. 23 Vanderbilt hosts Alabama on Senior Day for last home contest of regular season

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Friday will serve as the final match of the 2026 regular season for No. 23 Vanderbilt men’s tennis, who hosts Alabama for the team’s Senior Day at the Lummis Family Tennis Center.

The Commodores will look to end a eight-match skid in SEC play as they face the Crimson Tide. Vanderbilt (15-11, 4-9 SEC) holds a 12-10 advantage over Alabama (11-14, 3-9 SEC) in the all-time series. The Tide, though, own three consecutive wins against the black and gold, most recently coming as a 4-3 result in the opening round of last season’s SEC Tournament. Alabama is just 2-7 when facing Vanderbilt in Nashville.

Senior Nathan Cox and freshman Hoyoung Roh continued their climb in the ITA doubles rankings, moving up to No. 14 in this week’s list. It is the highest-career ranking for both players. In total, the duo has generated nine total wins in doubles play, three of which came against ranked opponents. No. 77 sophomore Pablo Martinez Gomez remains atop the singles rankings for Vanderbilt while Hoyoung follows just behind at No. 98.

Alabama is led by No. 82 Matic Kriznik in the singles rankings, joined by Vit Kalina at No. 92. In doubles, the Crimson Tide bring in a top-10 pairing: No. 8 Kalina and Andrii Zimnokh. The two are set to face Cox and Hoyoung at the No. 1 position, who are coming off a top-10 victory over Florida’s No. 8 Henry Jefferson and Tanapatt Nirundorn. Zimnokh is again present in the doubles rankings for Alabama at No. 38 alongside Jacob Olar.

Friday’s Senior Day ceremony is set to begin at 4:53 p.m. with first serve between No. 23 Vanderbilt and Alabama expected at 5 p.m. from the Lummis Family Tennis Center.
