OCALA, Fla. — Four finals. Two school records. One victory and one medal.
Those numbers sum up the last three days of competition for Vanderbilt swimming’s Aubrey Hull and Melissa Cowen at the CSCAA National Invitational Championship, which concluded Saturday at the Florida Aquatics Swimming & Training facility.
“We’re so happy for Mel and Aubrey, what a great way to finish the season for both of them,” head coach Jeremy Organ said. “Aubrey did such a fantastic job the last two nights with team records and personal best times while putting together races the way we knew she could and then executing. And for Mel to finish the week off finally putting things together in the 200 breast with her best time, we’re so excited looking forward to next season!”
Meet Highlights
-In the opening event of the championship, Hull moved on to the B Final of the 50 back after qualifying 14th overall.
-The sophomore returned to the pool that night to finish runner-up in that race.
-On Day 2 of the event, Hull touched the wall third in the A Final of the 100 back.

Notes

-That victory in the race was her sixth of the season and 14th of her career, with both totals leading all active Commodores.
-Cowen closed out the competition for Vandy with a career-best time of 2:12.04 in finals of the 200 breast.
-The two combined to score 60 points over the three-day meet, good for the Dores to finish 39th in the team standings.
