NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The American Conference announced its final set of weekly honors Monday afternoon, with Vanderbilt lacrosse midfielder Gabby Putman earning freshman of the week. Putman closes the regular season with nine conference honors, including eight over the final eight weeks.
A native of Cicero, New York, Putman recorded her third game of the season with double-digit draw controls in last weekend’s finale against South Florida. The freshman secured 10 of Vanderbilt’s 15 draws, while adding four ground balls, one caused turnover and a goal.
Putman surpassed 100 draw controls on the season, becoming the first Commodore to reach the mark in a single year. She also set multiple program records this season, including single-game and single-season draw controls.
The midfielder started all 17 contests in her rookie campaign, totaling 14 goals and five assists for 19 points, along with 102 draw controls, 20 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers.
