Vanderbilt’s Alex Priddy earned the Susan Delaney-Scheetz Award as the graduating senior with the highest grade point average in the American Lacrosse Conference. Priddy received her degree in medicine, health and society with a minor in sociology this May.
This is the second year for the award, established by the ALC to honor Delaney-Scheetz, a long-time supporter of women’s athletics who served as an administrator at Penn State for many years.
“We are not surprised by Alex’s accomplishment. She has always been a hard-working and gifted student who set a great example in the classroom,” VU Head Coach Cathy Swezey said. “This is a great honor for Alex and for our program.”
A native of Davidsonville, Md., Priddy will attend the School of Nursing and Health Studies at Georgetown University this fall. She played in 15 games for the Commodores this season and ranked second on the team with 20 goals. She was one of 23 Commodores named to the 2012 Spring SEC Academic Honor Roll this year — her third consecutive year to be recognized.
