TEAM NOTES
- Vanderbilt won the toss and elected to defer. Four captains represented the Commodores at midfield: Diego Pavia, Langston Patterson, Yilanan Oauttara and Khordae Sydnor
- The win marks the fourth-straight season Vandy has started the season 2-0
- Under head coach Clark Lea, the Commodores are 17-0 when holding a lead at the end of the third quarter
- The 44-20 final score represents the largest margin of victory after trailing by 10 points or more in at least the last 80 seasons for the Dores
- It is Vanderbilt’s first comeback of 10 or more since Northern Illinois in 2022
- The last time Vanderbilt picked up a nonconference road win over a Power 4 opponent was a 41-7 victory at Wake Forest in 2011
- Vanderbilt posted 262 combined rushing yards, the most since totaling 264 against Kentucky in 2022
- The 490 yards of total offense is the most for the Commodores since finishing with 601 against Hawai’i in 2022

- Graduate Diego Pavia’s two passing touchdowns vs. Virginia Tech marks his third-straight game with multiple scores through the air
- It is Pavia‘s 10th game at Vanderbilt with multiple passing touchdowns
- After generating 254 yards of total offense, Pavia now has seven games with 250 total yards or more. It is his first time doing so in back-to-back games since Georgia State and Missouri last season
- Pavia moves to No. 10 in program history for career passing touchdowns with 25
- Junior Sedrick Alexander scored in back-to-back contests for the first time since producing a touchdown in three straight games to open the 2024 season
- It is the third career game for Alexander with 70 or more rushing yards and the first time he has reached that mark in consecutive contests
- Alexander‘s two touchdowns marks the third multi-score game of his career
- Junior Makhilyn Young led the team in rushing with a career-high 95 yards
- Young‘s 62-yard rush in the fourth quarter is the longest of his career and the longest play of the season for Vanderbilt
- Junior Tre Richardson hauled in the first touchdown of his Vandy career while also tying the team-high in receiving yards with 54
- Junior Blaze Berlowitz tossed his first touchdown as a Commodore and the second of his career
- Sophomore Brycen Coleman recorded his first career touchdown, scoring on a 54-yard catch and run
- Sophomore CJ Heard generated the first sack of his collegiate career
- Junior Brock Taylor is now tied for the fourth-longest active streak of consecutive field goals made across Division I FBS after drilling his 13th straight
- Senior Nick Rinaldi led the team in tackles with six, including 2.5 tackles for a loss and a sack
- Junior Jaylon Stone recorded the first forced fumble of his career
- Cornerback/wide receiver Martel Hight finished with three tackles and caught one pass for 14 yards
