Photos: Chancellor Zeppos hosts alternate graduation

On Tuesday, May 17, Chancellor Nicholas Zeppos hosted an alternate graduation ceremony for the student-athletes that were unable to attend last Friday’s commencement in Memorial Gymnasium. A total of nine members from the women’s track and field team and both men’s and women’s tennis teams participated in the graduation festivities along with family, friends, faculty and staff inside the Board of Trust Room of the Student Life Center.

The nine participants in the alternate graduation were:

Adam Baker, Men’s Tennis
Adrienne DiRaddo, Women’s Track and Field
Katherine Hendricks, Women’s Track and Field
Taylor Jackson, Women’s Track and Field
Rita Jorgensen, Women’s Track and Field
Andy Pulido, Men’s Tennis
Bryant Salcedo, Men’s Tennis
Keilly Ulery, Women’s Tennis
Alex Zotov, Men’s Tennis

Both tennis teams were taking part in the opening rounds of the NCAA Tournament last weekend in Knoxville, while the track and field squad was competing at the SEC Outdoor Championships in Athens, Ga. Following today’s ceremony, the women’s tennis team traveled to Palo Alto, Calif., for the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament, which is scheduled to begin on Friday.
