Past, Present and Future: The Crest

Vanderbilt soccer unveils bold, fresh visual identity

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Connecting generations of Vanderbilt soccer and Commodores present and future, Vanderbilt unveiled the program’s crest Monday. Providing a bold, fresh visual identity to celebrate and represent the program, the crest is designed to strengthen Vanderbilt’s identity with a traditional soccer visual locally in Nashville, domestically across the United States and on the international stage.

“Crests in sport, particularly the game of soccer at every level across the world, play a significant role within the sport’s culture and identity and we are excited to be unveiling this crest to our fans and supporters near and far,” said head coach Darren Ambrose. “It gives our program a one-of-a-kind visual identity and in doing so, also links our origins to our present with the formation year of our program firmly embedded in the design. Our history and alumni play an important part in who we are today and this crest recognizes those women who played a foundational role in the growth of our program.”

Incorporating Vanderbilt’s iconic Star V, the keystone of Vanderbilt Athletics’ visual identity, along with the year the Commodore soccer program began competition at the club level before elevation to varsity status, enhances Vanderbilt soccer’s recognition for all audiences in today’s crowded visual landscape. Excited to unite Commodore soccer fans and student-athletes past and present, the crest will continue generating new levels of excitement for the Commodore soccer program following its record-breaking 2020 SEC Tournament championship leading into the 2021 NCAA Tournament set to take place in April.

Exclusive team gear with the crest on a range of items including t-shirts, sweatshirts, water bottles, blankets and more is available for a limited time by clicking here.
