NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Former Vanderbilt men’s golfer Harrison Ott survived Golf’s Longest Day, as he punched his ticket into the 125th U.S. Open on Monday by placing fifth at the 2025 U.S. Open Final Qualifying: Columbus at Kinsale Golf and Fitness Club in Columbus, Ohio.
Ott carded 6-under 138 over 36 holes of play on Monday to qualify for the 125th U.S. Open, which takes place June 12-15 at Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pennsylvania.
The Brookfield, Wisconsin, native got off to a hot start in Columbus, as he collected six birdies in Round 1 to finish his first 18 holes of play at 5-under 67. Ott added a pair of birdies during his second go-around the course at Kinsale Golf and Fitness Club, as he parred out his final 12 holes to finish Round 2 at 1-under 71.
Ott played for Vanderbilt from 2017-22. He was a GCAA Division I PING All-Southeast Regional selection during his final season in 2021-22 and was on the SEC Academic Honor Roll three times.
A total of nine Commodores, both present and former, competed on Golf’s Longest Day. William Moll, who competed for Vanderbilt from 2019-25 campaign, carded 6-under 138 at the U.S. Open Final Qualifying: Georgia, missing the cut by five strokes.
