Orji Headed To NFL Combine

Former Vanderbilt linebacker going to Indianapolis for NFL Combine, Feb. 28-March 6.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — After leading the Vanderbilt football team in tackles each of the last three seasons, linebacker Anfernee Orji will continue his journey to the National Football League at the 2023 scouting combine.

Orji will be among the participants at the annual event in Indianapolis, Feb. 28-March 6. He previously played in the East-West Shrine Bowl in Las Vegas on Feb. 2.

The Rockwall, Texas, native led the SEC with nine tackles per game as a senior in 2022. He was the first Vanderbilt player to lead the team in tackles three consecutive seasons since Moses Osemweige from 2003-05.

In addition, Orji was one of seven players in the SEC to force at least three fumbles during the season and one of 10 players in the league with multiple fumble recoveries. He was selected second-team All-SEC by Phil Steele.
