NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt swimming will make its 2025-26 season debut when it plays host to North Florida on Saturday. The meet will start at 11 a.m. at Centennial Sportsplex, admission is free to the general public.
It’s the latest start for the Commodores since beginning the 2021-22 campaign on Oct. 9.
“The team has been really working hard in the water, our focus has been on setting good habits day to day,” head coach Jeremy Organ said. “Now we get a chance to start establishing good racing habits with our first meet, it’s nice to be at home to get season started.”
Vandy returns 22 letterwinners from last season’s squad highlighted by the duo of Aubrey Hull and Emily Constable, who combined to set one school and four freshman records in 2024-25 on their way to each competing in three events at the CSCAA National Invitational Championship. The former posted the fastest time in program history in the 100 backstroke while also setting freshman standards in the 100 freestyle and 200 backstroke. The latter broke previous freshman mark in the 100 breaststroke and also had the best time on the team in the 200 breaststroke.
Jenna Ravarino—one of eight seniors on the roster—returns after leading the Dores in the 50 freestyle last season as Vanderbilt also has two of its top distances swimmers from last season back as well, Madelyn Porter (1,000 freestyle) and Merritt Zieminick (1,650 freestyle). Quinlan Hinerfeld ranked second on the team in 2024-25 in both the 100 and 200 back and was also among the top five in the 100 butterfly and 400 individual medley, while Kate Heintz (200 and 500 freestyle, 100 and 200 butterfly) was on Vandy’s season performer list in four events as well.
Bailey Ratzburg (100 free, 200 breast, 400 IM) ended up among the top five in three different disciplines, and is one six individuals on the roster—joining Taylor Carey, Constable, Liv Gooding, Amelia Harper and Abigail Hite—returning after making the top five on the team in breaststroke events last season.
Vanderbilt has faced North Florida on six previous occasions, winning each of the last five. The Commodores defeated the Ospreys, 177-85, in the most recent matchup on Oct. 15, 2022, in Jacksonville.
