AUBURN, Ala. – The Vanderbilt women’s basketball team looks to shake a three-game skid on Sunday, as the Commodores travel to Auburn for an SEC contest. Tipoff against the Tigers is set for 3 p.m. and airs live on SEC Network.

Starting Five
>> Vanderbilt hits the road seeking to end to its current three-game losing streak. The Dores are coming off an 85-77 double overtime loss to Mississippi State on Thursday at Memorial Gymnasium. Vandy holds an 18-7 overall record and a 5-6 mark in SEC play.

>> The Commodores are 5-3 in true road games this season. Vanderbilt has won two of its last three SEC road games, picking up wins at No. 19 Alabama (66-64) on Jan. 26 and at Florida (99-86) on Jan. 30. The Dores dropped their last road contest back on Feb 6, falling at No. 4/6 Texas 87-66.

>> The Dores head to Auburn coming off their first double overtime game since the 2010-11 season. Thursday’s double overtime loss to Mississippi State marked the ninth double overtime contest in program history. It was also the first time Vanderbilt went to double overtime at Memorial Gym in over 35 years. Additionally, it was the first double overtime game at Memorial Gym since the 1989-90 season, when the Dores dropped a 96-93 decision to Auburn on Jan. 20, 1990.

>> Sunday will be the 57th meeting between the Commodores and Tigers. Vandy holds the all-time series lead at 31-25 against Auburn. The Dores are 2-1 vs. the Tigers under head coach Shea Ralph, which includes last season’s 53-50 victory at Memorial Gym.

>> Vanderbilt is 10-12 all-time against the Tigers in Auburn, Alabama. The Commodores have dropped each of the last four games at Auburn. Vandy’s last road win at Auburn came on Jan. 9, 2014, when the Commodores posted a 74-65 victory.

NET Ranking
Vanderbilt enters Sunday holding a NET ranking of 22. The Commodores came in at No. 7 in the first NET ranking of the 2024-25 season, the highest NET ranking in program history. The NET is an evaluation tool the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee uses to determine seeding and at-large bids.

Pierre’s 20-Point Streak
Sophomore Khamil Pierre has scored 20 or more points in each of the last three games. The 6-2 forward is coming off a 24-point performance against Mississippi State. She previously had a 26-point effort at No. 4/6 Texas on Feb. 6 and another 24-point outing vs. Ole Miss on Feb. 2. Over her last three games, the Phoenix, Arizona, native is averaging 24.7 points per contest. It is the third time this season that Pierre has had a three-game stretch where she has scored 20 or more points.

A Spark Off The Bench
Sophomore Madison Greene came off the bench against Mississippi State and hit four 3-point field goals en route to a 17-point performance. It is the ninth time this season that Greene has scored 10-plus points in a reserve role. The Columbus, Ohio, native leads the Commodores in points off the bench this season at 8.3 points per game.

Dynamic Duo
Sophomore Khamil Pierre and freshman Mikayla Blakes are the only pair of teammates in all of NCAA Division I to average over 20.0 points per game. Blakes enters the weekend ranked 10th nationally at 21.8 points per contest, while Pierre’s 21.3 points per contest is 12th in the nation.

Pierre and Blakes are averaging a combined 43.1 points per game this season, making them the highest-scoring tandem in the SEC.

Scouting the Tigers
Auburn holds an overall record of 12-13 and 3-9 in SEC play. The Tigers have lost seven of their last 10 games. Auburn is 8-4 at home this season and holds a NET ranking of 57 coming into play this week.

The Tigers feature a pair of double-digit scorers led by senior DeyYona Gaston’s 22.0 points per contest. Gaston’s 22.0 points per game is the second-highest scoring average in the SEC and ranks seventh nationally. Freshman Yuting Deng is putting up 10.4. points per game in seven contests this season. She is coming off a 13-point performance at Tennessee this past Thursday.

Auburn is putting up 67.9 points per game through 25 games this season. The Tigers are shooting 44.6 percent from the field and 33.2 percent on 3-point field goals. Defensively, teams are putting up 73.0 points per game against Auburn while shooting 42.9 percent from the floor and 33.0 percent from behind the arc.
