ATHENS, Ga. – The No. 38 Vanderbilt Commodores were swept by the No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon in a 7-0 decision.
Charlie Jones and Joe Dorn tied up the doubles point with a 9-8 (7-1) over Wil Spencer and KU Singh after #59 Sadio Doumbia and Nathan Pasha beat Blake Bazarnik and Jeff Offerdahl 8-3. Georgia won on court one, defeating Gonzales Austin and Alex DiValerio 8-5 for the point.
The Commodores put up a fair fight, with Jones and Anton Kovrigin nearly forcing a third set. Kovrigin went 11-9 in the second set’s tiebreaker before losing 6-1, 7-6(11-9).
Dorn won his first set, but lost in the end to Campbell Johnson 2-6, 6-3, 6-4.
The Commodores host Ole Miss and Mississippi State next weekend to finish out their home slate of the season.
