Commodores picked to finish ninth in SEC

NASHVILLE – Vanderbilt has been predicted to finish ninth in the 2018 Southeastern Conference women’s soccer title as voted by league’s 14 head coaches.

Last year, the Commodores were picked to finish eighth and finished in a tie for fourth place after the regular season concluded.

Florida is predicted to finish first in the conference for the 20th time in the poll’s history. The Gators are one of four SEC teams ranked in the USCP rankings.

South Carolina is ranked fifth while Florida is seventh, Texas A&M 11th and Tennessee 25th. Auburn, Ole Miss, LSU and Vanderbilt are among the teams receiving votes in the poll.

The Commodores begin their season this Thursday on the road against No. 10 Florida State. Vanderbilt faces a total of five ranked opponents on its schedule this year.
