Work Begins (July 10) | Update (July 18)

Work on Vanderbilt’s new artificial surface inside Vanderbilt Stadium continues to progress rapidly as kickoff nears. The majority of the Legion 46 synthetic turf has been installed by Shaw Sportexe, and the Vanderbilt-specific features are really beginning to show.

The “Vanderbilt” and “Commodores” wordmarks have been sewn in place in the end zones along with the Star V logos that bookend each word. The words “Anchor Down” have been set in place between the 5- and 20-yard lines on alternating sides of the field.

The SEC logos that sit on the 25-yard line on alternating ends of the field have also been sewn in place. The Star V logo that will be moved into the middle of the field and currently sits on the 50-yard line on the west side of the field.

Workers must still add the turf on the sidelines of the field, including the yard lines and out-of-bounds lines.

VUCommodores.com will continue to provide facility updates in the coming weeks.
