NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt men’s golf head coach Scott Limbaugh announced the Commodores’ 2024-25 schedule Thursday, as Vandy is slated to play in 10 tournaments during the regular season.
Vandy will participate in four events during the fall and compete in six spring tournaments before NCAA postseason play begins May 12-14 at the NCAA Regionals. Vanderbilt will be defending its team title at four tournaments during the 2024-25 campaign, while the Dores look to make an 11th-straight appearance at the NCAA Men’s Golf Championships.
Vanderbilt will once again host the Mason Rudolph Championship at Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tennessee. This year’s Mason Rudolph will be held on April 4-6. Senior Gordon Sargent will look to become the tournament’s first three-time individual champion after claiming the title each of the last two seasons.
The season-opening tournament for the Commodores takes place Sept. 9-10 at the Inverness Intercollegiate in Toledo, Ohio. It will be the first time since the 2005-06 campaign that the Dores will play in the Inverness.
Vanderbilt takes a week off after the Inverness before playing back-to-back weeks at the Valero Texas Collegiate (Sept. 21-23) and the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational (Sept. 30-Oct. 1). The Commodores will be seeking to defend their team title at both the Valero Texas Collegiate and Ben Hogan Collegiate Invite after winning each tournament last season.
The Dores head to Alpharetta, Georgia, Oct. 18-20 to play in the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Invitational for the first time to close out the 2024 fall season.
After the winter break, Vanderbilt opens the 2025 spring season on Jan. 27-29 at the Southwestern Invitational at Sherwood Country Club in Lake Sherwood, California.
The Commodores then head to the Watersound Invitational on Feb. 17-19. Vandy has won the tournament held at Sharks Tooth Golf Club in Panama City, Florida, each of the last two seasons. Vanderbilt captured last year’s Watersound Invitational trophy after carding 29-under 835.
Vandy will make the trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for the Cabo Collegiate on March 2-4. It’s the third-straight season that the Dores will compete at the Cabo Collegiate, while it is their 11th appearance overall at the international event since the 2013-14 season.
Vanderbilt makes a return trip to the Valspar Collegiate Invitational on March 24-25 in Palm City, Florida. The Commodores posted a runner-up finish at last year’s Valspar Collegiate.
The Dores return home to host their lone home tournament to close the 2024-25 regular season. The Mason Rudolph Championship will be held April 4-6 at Vanderbilt Legends Club. Vanderbilt will be seeking its sixth-straight Mason Rudolph title, and 10th overall, this season.
The 2025 SEC Men’s Golf Championship will be held in its traditional location at the Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simons Island, Georgia. The Commodores will be looking to advance to the title match at the SEC Championship for the fifth-straight season. Vanderbilt has won the SEC Championship three times, which came in 2017, 2021, and 2022.
NCAA postseason play begins May 12-14 at the NCAA Men’s Golf Regional. The six locations for the 2025 NCAA Regionals are Amherst, Virginia, Bremerton, Washington, Fayetteville, Arkansas, Reno Nevada, Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Tallahassee, Florida.
The 2025 NCAA Men’s Golf Championships will be held at Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California, for the second-straight year. The Commodores finished second place as a team in stroke play to advance to the quarterfinal round of match play at last season’s NCAA Men’s Golf Championships.
