Progress continues to be made on Vanderbilt’s new multipurpose facility and recreation center expansion as the facility nears its scheduled opening of October 31.
The exterior of the structure is nearly complete with glass windows recently added to the north and south sides of the facility, which has enabled workers to begin focusing on the fine details inside the building.
Lights have been added and the artificial turf has been installed and striped. Workers continue to fine tune the playing surface and Star V logo at midfield.
A new video board has recently been hung in the northeast corner of the facility. Additionally, adjustable divider screens have been added to separate the track from the playing field, when necessary.
Recreation center enhancements are scheduled to wrap up in January, 2014. The recreation center has remained open throughout the renovation process.
