Multiple Competitions for the Commodores

Vandy swimming will celebrate Senior Day and travel for meet this weekend

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt swimming will compete both at home and on the road this weekend as preparations continue for postseason events.

The Commodores will first play host to both Kentucky and Texas A&M Friday at 1 p.m. at Centennial Sportsplex, with free admission available to the general public. Prior to its final home meet of the season, Vandy will recognize eight seniors on the 2025-26 roster—Jamie Anderson, Ryen Bosuro, Taylor Carey, Emily Carpenter, Meredith DiPasquale, Kendall Hall, Quinlan Hinerfeld and Jenna Ravarino.

On Saturday, the Dores will visit Southern Illinois for a competition that gets underway at 1 p.m. in Carbondale.

“It’s always a fun and exciting day to have the opportunity to honor those girls who are seniors and moving on after the season, there is a lot of emotion we have to put into our races so that we can enjoy the moment,” head coach Jeremy Organ said. “This is something a little different, I don’t think we’ve ever done this before with a home meet on Friday and then traveling for a meet on Saturday. Let’s put our best efforts out there each day and hopefully at the end of the two days we have a handful of really good swims that we can look back and say it was a good weekend.”

This marks the second straight season that the Commodores will take on both the Wildcats and the Salukis after facing both in Nashville a year ago, although it’s the first time they will visit Southern Illinois since Oct. 9, 2010. The Aggies will be making their first appearance in Nashville since October 2013, with the most recent match-up between the two programs taking place on Jan. 26, 2019, in College Station.

The Dores last swam in a tri-meet against San Diego State and San Diego on Jan. 2, where Aubrey Hull led the team after posting a win and runner-up finish in the 200 and 100 backstroke, respectively. Hinerfeld was second to Hull in the 200 back while Merritt Zieminick and Madelyn Porter recorded a two-three finish in the 1,000 freestyle. Kate Heintz added a podium finish as well after placing third in the 200 butterfly.

Carey, Grace Ciaramitaro, Melissa Cowen—who leads the team in three events entering the weekend—and Amelia Harper all placed in the top five in races at the tri-meet too.
