LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Commodores wrapped up play at the ITA Southeast Regional on Sunday by earning three more victories in consolation singles play.
Picking up victories were freshmen Adam Baker, Bryant Salcedo and Alex Zotov. Baker and Zotov earned their victories in the round of 32 in the Consolation 256/128 bracket. In the same bracket, Salcedo received a bye in the round of 32 and earned his victory in the round of 16.
Baker earned a straight sets victory over Memphis’ Spencer Heflin, 6-0, 6-2. Zotov also earned a straight sets win, defeating LSU’s John Tragardh, 7-5, 6-2.
Salcedo’s victory came in the round of 16 when he won a back-and-forth match with LSU’s Ryan Lissner, 7-5, 6-7(2), 10-6.
Each of the three victories also marked the final matches of the tournament for all three competitors, as the next slated matches were all won by opponents with walkover decisions.
Also concluding play at the tournament was junior Nick Cromydas, who fell in the round of 16 in the Consolation 64 bracket. Cromydas lost to Ole Miss’ Jonas Berg, 6-2, 6-2. Following his win over Cromydas, Berg advanced to the semifinals of the draw.
The Commodores will conclude competition this fall at the ITA Indoors, Nov. 1-4.
