NASHVILLE, Tenn. The Vanderbilt men’s tennis team will make the trek to Atlanta this weekend for the Georgia Tech Invitational. The tournament will be the Commodores’ third of the fall.
“This will be another good test for us,” head coach Ian Duvenhage said. “In the fall you work on a lot of things and try to improve your problems so that they don’t arise in the spring. It is going to be another opportunity for us to play some matches and judge where we are at.”
Joining Vanderbilt in the tournament are players from Georgia Tech, Georgia, Auburn, Middle Tennessee State, Tennessee, Louisville, Kentucky, Southern Miss, Furman, Davidson, Georgia Southern and Georgia State.
The tournament will commence at 8 a.m. on Friday and will run through Saturday. The event is divided into two singles flights of 32 players and two doubles flights of 16 players.
The Georgia Tech Invitational marks the second straight tournament the Commodores have played in Georgia. From Sept. 21-23, Vanderbilt played at the Southern Collegiates in Athens, Ga.
