NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Vanderbilt men’s tennis team sets out for Knoxville, Tenn. to compete in the ITA’s annual Ohio Valley Regional Championships. Hosted by the University of Tennessee, the four-day long tournament will be held Oct. 20- 24.
One of the largest and most competitive tournaments on slate this fall, student-athletes from all over Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee will compete with the opportunity of advancing to the third ITA national championship of the season, the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships.
The Commodores have a successful history at regionals with Gonzales Austin and Rhys Johnson taking the doubles championship in 2014, Ryan Lipman winning singles in 2013 and making tournament finals in 2009 as a freshman.
Vanderbilt brings two ranked singles players to regionals, with No. 21 Daniel Valent being the second highest ranked player in the singles draw. Cameron Klinger follows the junior, sitting at No. 60 in the nation.

TOURNAMENT SITES: On Thursday, tournament matches will be played at Goodfriend Tennis Center, Knoxville Racquet Club and West Hills. Because of current construction at Barksdale Stadium, spectators for matches at Goodfriend Tennis Center are asked to park in Lot 11C located off Volunteer Boulevard and enter the tennis complex off Caledonia Avenue.
