PENSACOLA, Fla. – No. 8 Vanderbilt soccer took down Alabama in a 2-1 decision on Tuesday morning at the Brosnaham Soccer Complex in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament.
Freshman duo of Olivia Stafford and Reagan Pentz were the difference makers, each adding a goal to help advance the Dores.
Vanderbilt (14-3-1, 7-2-1 SEC) fell behind early when Alabama struck first in the 12th minute when Nadia Ramadan converted a pass from Larkin Thomason to make it 1–0. Moments later, the Crimson Tide went down a player after goalkeeper Madi Munguia was issued a red card. Vanderbilt capitalized quickly on the free kick, as Olivia Stafford finished a cross from Courtney Jones for her fifth goal of the season.
Reagan Pentz scored in the 50th minute, slotting home a pass from Sydney Watts and Olivia Stafford to give Vanderbilt a 2–1 lead it would not relinquish.

Vanderbilt outshot Alabama 15-12 and held a 54-46 advantage in possession. Keeper Sara Wojdelko recorded four saves to earn her 13th win of the season.
Vandy will face the winner of Kentucky and Georgia in the semifinals on Thursday in Pensacola. Kickoff will be at 6 p.m. CT and shown on SEC Network.
