More Kudos For Commodores: IWLCA/US Lacrosse All-Americans Announced 6-1-04 6/1/2004 Womenslacrosse.com also lauds play of Vanderbilt trio NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Four Vanderbilt student-athletes received All-America recognition when a pair of post-season lists were announced Tuesday. Commodore seniors Michelle Allen, Jess Roguski, Bridget Morris and Lauren Peck all were named IWLCA/US Lacrosse All-Americans, while Allen, Roguski and Morris earned similar honors from womenslacrosse.com. Vanderbilt’s nine-member senior class, including three team captains, led the way to a school-record 12 victories, an American Lacrosse Conference regular-season title and a trip to the national semifinals. Allen led the Commodores in point (67), assists (29) and draw controls (43) and was named the ALC Player of the Year. She earned numerous conference and national player of the week honors while leading the Dores to a 12-6 record (5-1 in the ALC). Allen was a first-team selection on both lists. Roguski led Vanderbilt with 42 goals, including a pair of hat tricks in the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament. She ended her Vanderbilt career ranked fourth all-time in points and third in goals. She was a first-team pick by womenslacrosse.com and received second-team recognition from the IWLCA and US Lacrosse. Morris repeatedly shut down the opposition’s top attacker, and becomes the third Vanderbilt defender to earn All-American honors, following Megan Lewis (2002) and Tara Schmucker (2003). Morris was a second-team choice for womenslacrosse.com and a third-team selection for the IWLCA and US Lacrosse. Peck starred in the Commomdore attack for two seasons, and was second on the team this year with 41 goals and 57 points. Peck was chosen to the IWLCA/US Lacrosse third team.
