NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt men’s tennis signed four new additions to its roster, with two slated to join the team in January 2025. Pablo Martinez Gomez, Hoyoung Roh, Jack Satterfield, and Cayden Wang are set to begin a new era for the Dores: the class is the highest ranked in program history.

“We are excited to announce the signings of Pablo, Roh, Jack, and Cayden,” head coach Scott Brown said. “Not only are all four of them quality tennis players, but more importantly they are quality human beings that align with the cornerstones of our program’s culture.”
Gomez is set to join the Dores in January and will be immediately eligible for competition. From Murcia, Spain, he climbed to No. 43 in the Spanish men’s rankings and reached a career high No. 72 in the ITF world junior rankings. Gomez has also posted a best No. 1450 in the ATP Tour singles rankings.
Hoyoung is the other Commodore coming along next month, but will begin under an academic redshirt and will not be eligible to compete until January 2026. Out of IMG Academy, Hoyoung is ranked No. 10 in the ITF junior world rankings. He is the highest ranked recruit the program has signed, and one of the highest ranked recruits across all of Vanderbilt athletics. The South Korea native possesses a 13.30 UTR and has competed in all four junior Grand Slams. Hoyoung also has multiple tournament wins just this year: he captured titles in singles and doubles at J300 Wanju, singles at J500 Osaka and J300 Porto Alegre, and doubles at J300 Beijing, J300 Charleroi-Marcinelle, J300 Porto Alegre, and J300 Asuncion.
Rounding out the signing class is Satterfield and Wang, both of which will begin competing in the fall of 2025. Satterfield, coming to Nashville out of Tampa, Florida, is a Blue Chip prospect ranked No. 6 in the 2025 class and No. 2 out of the state. In 2023, he won the USTA Boys 16s National Clay Court Championships and was a consolation finalist at the USTA Boys 16s National Hard Court Championships. Satterfield again finished as a consolation finalist at the USTA Boys 18s National Hard Court Championships in August. He has steadily climbed the international rankings this year with titles in three ITF singles tournaments and two in doubles competition. He was also a recipient of the USTA Sportsmanship Award.
Wang is an Irvine, California native who reached as high as No. 10 in the 2025 class and No. 14 in California. He was the 2021 SoCal B16s Doubles Sectionals Champion and 2019 SoCal B12s Singles Sectionals Champion.
“With Pablo and Roh coming in January, and then Jack and Cayden coming next fall, we expect them to make an immediate impact to our program and take it to the next level and beyond,” Brown said. “We look forward to having them on West End soon wearing the black and gold. Anchor Down!”
Vanderbilt is nearly a month away from returning to action for the 2024-25 spring season; the Dores are set to host Alabama A&M and Tennessee Tech on Jan. 16.
