NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt men’s tennis continues SEC play in traveling to Gainesville, Florida on Friday to take on No. 4 Florida at 4 p.m. CT. The Commodores wrap up their road stint against No. 32 South Carolina on Sunday in Columbia at noon CT.
Coming off a 4-3 win over Arkansas, No. 28 Vanderbilt boasts a 3-2 SEC record. On the road, the Dores are 4-2 after dropping matches to No. 8 Mississippi State and No. 38 Harvard earlier this season.
On Friday, the Commodores challenge a 12-2 Gators team that has won five straight SEC matches and has yet to suffer a conference loss.
The Gators sport a six-match winning streak overall, including a 5-0 record at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex. The Gators feature four student-athletes in the Oracle ITA top-100 singles rankings with Oliver Crawford leading the Gators at No. 15.
In the last matchup between the Gators and Commodores, Florida topped the Dores, 4-1. at last season’s SEC Championships in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
On Sunday, Vanderbilt faces an 11-5 South Carolina team. The Gamecocks currently ride a three-match losing streak after dropping matches to No. 8 Mississippi State, No. 22 Tennessee and No. 26 Georgia.
South Carolina is 1-4 in the early goings of SEC play. The Gamecocks feature two players in the Oracle ITA top-100 singles rankings with Paul Judd coming in a No. 5 and No. 93 Daniel Rodrigues.
In the last meeting between the Commodores and Gamecocks, Vanderbilt took down USC, 5-2.
