NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Vanderbilt men’s tennis team released its 2025-26 spring schedule on Tuesday, with a home doubleheader on Jan. 14 against Tennessee State and Tennessee Tech to begin the dual match season.
The Dores fell just short of an NCAA Tournament berth last year and reloaded with the No. 1 ranked recruiting class in the Tennis Recruiting Network rankings. Vanderbilt is composed of six underclassmen entering the 2026 spring season. Leading the way for the youthful Commodores is sophomore Pablo Martinez Gomez, who delivered the black and gold its first NCAA Championships qualifier since 2023-24 after earning a co-champion singles title in the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships.
Vanderbilt travels to Northwestern on Jan. 17 before heading to Winston-Salem, North Carolina for ITA Kickoff Weekend. The event, which runs Jan. 23-24, features 56 teams from across the country. 14 of the 56 will secure qualification into the ITA National Team Indoor Championship, which takes place Feb. 6-10.
After a home tune-up against Middle Tennessee on Jan. 29, the Dores travel to Charlottesville for a Feb. 1 contest with Virginia, who have captured six of the last 12 NCAA team championships. The matchup marks the first meeting between the two programs since 2017, in which the Cavaliers won 4-3 en route to an NCAA title. Vanderbilt will host the remainder of its nonconference competition, with five matches coming against Michigan State, Lipscomb, Xavier, Eastern Kentucky and Butler.
The Dores will kick off SEC play in Starkville, Mississippi against the Bulldogs of Mississippi State on Feb. 21. They return home for a rivalry matchup versus Tennessee on Feb. 23 before embarking on a four-match road trip to Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Arkansas and Ole Miss. Vanderbilt returns home March 13 to face Auburn. The team’s alumni weekend will follow with matches against NCAA semifinalist Texas on March 20 and Georgia on March 22. The Dores will welcome LSU to Nashville on March 29 before concluding the regular season with an April 10 matchup against Alabama on Senior Day. Vanderbilt will also have road contests at Kentucky, Florida and South Carolina.
The SEC Tournament hosted by Texas A&M will run April 15-19, with NCAA Regionals set to follow beginning May 1. Vandy looks to return to the NCAA Tournament for the second time under head coach Scott Brown after doing so in the 2023-24 season.
