TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Vanderbilt’s men’s tennis team will conclude its fall schedule this weekend when it travels to Alabama for the Crimson Tide Fall Championship.
“We’re making progress and this tournament is another opportunity for us to continue on the path,” Vanderbilt head coach Ian Duvenhage said. “A number of our players have improved so significantly that it is motivating everyone.”
Among the most notable improvements came last weekend when Vanderbilt’s doubles team of sophomores Adam Baker and Alex Zotov advanced to the finals at the ITA Southeast Championships.
Beyond the success of Baker and Zotov in doubles has been the play of multiple individuals in singles competition. Sophomore Bryant Salcedo has won six of his last eight matches, Baker has won his last three, junior James Moye has won two straight and senior Nick Cromydas advanced to the round of 16 at the ITA Southeast Championships.
Vanderbilt will hope another strong showing this weekend will catapult them to a successful spring.
Competing at the Crimson Tide Fall Championship will be freshmen Charlie Jones and Alex DiValerio, sophomores Adam Baker, Bryant Salcedo and Alex Zotov, juniors James Moye and Vijay Paul and senior Nick Cromydas.
