The Vanderbilt men’s golf team will close out its fall schedule with a trip to Rocky Face, Ga., for the Carpet Capital Collegiate, hosted by Georgia Tech.

Vanderbilt will join 17 other schools at The Farm Golf Club, a par-72, 6,896-yard setup. Teams will play 18 holes per day Friday through Sunday.

Junior Luke List and freshman Jon Curran lead the Commodores this season, both averaged below 73 strokes per round. The VU duo placed first and second, respectively, at the Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate earlier this season.

The 54-hole Carpet Capital Collegiate is being played for the 16th time this fall. The tournament attracts many of the nation’s top college programs and annually has one of the nation’s toughest fields on one of the most challenging golf courses that host college events.

Georgia, the nation’s top-ranked team in the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index, is the defending champion, headlining a field that also includes No. 3 Georgia Tech, No. 4 Tennessee, No. 5 Florida, No. 7 Duke, No. 14 Georgia State, No. 16 South Carolina, No. 20 East Tennessee State and No. 22 Auburn. Rounding out the field are Alabama, Augusta State, Clemson, Georgia Southern, NC State, Oklahoma, TCU and Texas Tech.

Results from Friday’s round will be posted by late afternoon at Golfstat.com. Live scoring for the event can be followed Saturday and Sunday at the same site.
