The Commodores will be breaking out new uniforms this season from Nike, and fans will be able to see a noticable difference in their look. A new font adorns the “Vanderbilt” in the front, and a Star V pattern can be seen behind the number and on the side of the shorts.

Players should also notice the difference with state-of-the-art fabric which provides a lighter, and more form-fitting, uniform.

“The new uniforms are called Hyper Elite Fit,” said Tim Thompson, color commentator on Vanderbilt radio broadcasts and Nike College Sports Marketing Field Director. “It is made of high performance light weight materials for increased performance during games. It will have an aerographic sublimated drained woven into the back of the jersey with a Star V.”

Also, the Commodores’ uniforms are ones that Nike exclusively made for the team.

Check out the photos below and the photogallery above of the new uniforms, with Kyle Fuller, Sheldon Jeter, and Josh Henderson modeling the different styles.

Fans will be able to see the uniforms a week from Friday when Vanderbilt opens its season with an exhibition game against St. Xavier (Ill.) at Memorial Gym. Tip off is 7 p.m.

Season tickets are also still available by calling 615-322-GOLD, logging on to vucommodores.com, or visiting the McGugin Center ticket office.
