An all-access look at Coach Derek Mason’s Commodores will air before the national television audience this Saturday on CBS Sports.

“College Football’s Open Season presented by Mercedes-Benz” will feature a 30-minute segment of unique Vanderbilt content gathered from an Intersport film crew that was embedded with the Commodores as they prepared for an early October road trip to face the Georgia Bulldogs.

The one-hour show will air Saturday on CBS affiliates at 1 p.m. CT, just before the national “SEC on CBS” showdown between No. 1 Mississippi State and No. 5 Alabama.

The Vanderbilt segment will open the “College Football’s Open Season presented by Mercedes-Benz” show. The second half-hour segment of the show focuses on Arkansas as they face Texas A&M in Cowboys Stadium, site of the 2015 NCAA College Football Playoff National Championship.

The show offers interviews with several Commodore personalities and student-athletes, including Mason, play-by-play announcer Joe Fisher, defensive standouts Darreon Herring and Kyle Woestmann, specialists Andrew East and Taylor Hudson, and true freshman quarterback Wade Freebeck.

Intersport producers also gathered pre-and post-game locker room speeches, practice footage, team meetings and conditioning workouts for the show, in addition to joining four members of the team on campus in class, and taping an impromptu jam session involving several players.

This marks the second of four “College Football’s Open Season presented by Mercedes-Benz” episodes airing this season on CBS. Just two of the four shows focus on Southeastern Conference teams.
