Martin Named Goalie of Week

This marks the second honor of the season for Emme Martin

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The American Conference announced its weekly honors on Monday afternoon, highlighting Vanderbilt lacrosse goalie Emme Martin as the American Goalie of the Week. Gabby Putman and Hayden Miller earn honorable mention.

Martin, a sophomore goalie, surpassed the 100 career-save mark after an eight-save performance on Saturday to top East Carolina 15-13 and lead the Dores to a 3-0 start in conference. Out of Monkton, Maryland, Martin made five saves in the fourth quarter to shut out the Pirates, allowing the Commodore offense to score two consecutive goals to secure the win.

Putman, who has been recognized by the conference for five straight weeks, scored a career-best four goals off four shots, won five draw controls, caused two turnovers and picked up a ground ball.

Miller, earning her first conference honor, posted a hat trick while dishing two assists for a career-high five points in the win.

The Commodores return to action on Wednesday, hosting Lindenwood. Opening draw is slated for noon and can be seen on ESPN+.
