NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Ezra Manjon hit a short jumper in the lane as time expired on Tuesday to help lead Vanderbilt to a 74-73 SEC win over Texas A&M at Memorial Gymnasium.
The senior guard finished with 17 of his 19 points in the second half—adding four assists—while Ven-Allen Lubin provided a career-best 25 points on 9-of-13 shooting as the Commodores moved to 7-17 overall and 2-9 in the league. Evan Taylor added 12 points off the bench for Vandy also.
The Dores turned the ball over a season-low-tying five times and finished with a 28-18 scoring advantage in the paint.
The Aggies (15-9, 6-5 SEC) were led by Wade Taylor IV’s 18 points, with Tyrece Radford scoring 17 as well. Henry Coleman III recorded 13 points and Jace Carter finished with 11 as Texas A&M connected on all 17 free-throw attempts and shot 51.1 percent from the field.
The contest featured 12 ties and 21 lead changes, with neither team leading by more than four points throughout.
Vanderbilt is next at Tennessee on Saturday, with tip-off against the Volunteers scheduled for 5 p.m. CT on SEC Network.
