ITA Rankings
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – With just 11 days away from their doubleheader home opener, the ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Association) has released the first installment of spring rankings. The Vanderbilt men’s tennis team enters the 2015-16 dual season at No. 25 in the nation, and with one ranked singles player.

The ‘Dores join four other SEC schools (A&M, UGA, Ole Miss, and UF) in the Oracle/ITA top-25, with 12 of the league’s 13 teams making the rankings. This past fall, Vanderbilt earned excellent experience against these ranked league teams, which will translate to competitive matches come conference play.
In singles rankings, Vandy sophomore Daniel Valent comes in at No. 64 in the country. This past tournament season, Valent secured a 11-4 record, and currently rides a six-match win streak into the spring. In his debut season with the Commodores, the Zurich, Switzerland native earned second team All-SEC honors, as well as a spot on the SEC All-Freshman team.
Commodore fans can get their first glimpse of this season’s squad in less than two weeks, as Ian Duvenhage and his team host Furman University and Nashville neighbor Lipscomb in a doubleheader beginning at 1:00 pm on Jan. 16th
